Abstract

In the study, an assessment of the silver nanoparticles as adjuvant chemotherapy of experimental drug-resistant tuberculosis. A model of tuberculosis was created in white mice-males imbrogno line BALB/c. The effectiveness of treatment was assessed according to the index lesion, examination and visivamente of the pathogen from the target organs. In the treatment silver nanoparticles with an average size up 3 to 60 nm werе used.
The obtained results of the index lesion indicate a higher efficacy of the nanocomposite consisting of silver nanoparticles and isoniazid. Direct microscopic index and indicators of visivamente of lung tissue and extraorally bodies also had a higher priority statistically significant value when used in the treatment of nanocomposite. Thus were established the optimal dose of the nanoparticles in the composition that provided the highest efficiency of treatment. Studies have shown that silver nanoparticles are able to potentiate isoniazid to overcome the resistance of the pathogen.

Abstract

In the article the possibility of differential diagnosis of tuberculosis and complications of the vaccine process using molecular genetics techniques and immunodiagnostics is demonstrated. PCR method makes it possible to differentiate M. tuberculosis, M. bovis and M. bovis BCG (reagent kit «AmpliSens® MTC-diff-FL»); a test with recombinant allergen tuberculosis in 95.5% of cases verifies the diagnosis.

Abstract

To evaluate the possibilities of impulse oscillometry (IO) in the ventilation disorders diagnosis in pulmonary tuberculosis (PT) 253 patients with PT were observed using IO. Then IO parameters were compared with the clinical and laboratory data, computed tomography (CT), parameters of spirometry, bodyplethysmography. There were increasing of respiratory impedance Z, resistance at 5 Hz, resonance frequency and decreasing of respiratory reactance at 5 Hz in patients with obstructive and mixed ventilation disorders. The change in the characteristics of IO was correlated with duration of PT, the volume of PT lesions by CT. IO may be useful in diagnosis of obstructive disorders in patients witn PT.

Abstract

During intensive phase of anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy, hyperuricemia was observed in 268 of 435 new pulmonary TB patients (60.6%, 95% CI 57.0–66.1%), complicated by arthralgia in 21.6% and signs of nephropathy in 1.5%. Pyrazinamide was associated with hyperuricemia in 262 of 268 cases. Independent risk factors of hyperuricemia by using logistic regression method were pre-treatment serum creatinine level > 80 mkmol/l (OR 1.99, 95%CI 1.11–3.57) and concomitant fluoroquinolone use (OR 1.97, 95%CI 1.12–3.49). Risk factors of arthralgia were female sex, body mass index > 22 kg/m2 and fluoroquinolone use. Median time for developing hyperuricemia was 36.5 days (IQR 21–72 days); earlier elevation of serum uric acid was reported in patients with pre-treatment serum creatinine level > 80 mkmol/l (p = 0,003 by log-rank test). In the absence of intervention, progressive course of hyperuricemia was more frequently observed in patients with early high elevation of serum uric acid level (> 600 mkmol/l before 6 wееks, OR 6.11, 95%CI 1.66–22.53, р = 0,005).

Abstract

The experience in temporary bronchoobstruction by foam rubber or valve bronchoobturator in 54 tuberculosis patients with pulmonary bleeding presented. The endoscopy methods could to improve prognosis, to prevent the aspiration pneumonia and to prepare the
patients for surgery. In case of massive bleeding the foam rubber bronchoobturator preferred and in mild or small cases – the valve bronchoobturator.

Abstract

The individual psychological characteristics of 100 children of primary school age with various manifestations of tuberculosis infection were investigated in Children Department of Moscow Research and Clinical Center for Tuberculosis control. The parenting styles have been also studied in their families.
Low level of intellectual functions, high level of self-control, good understanding social norms, increased anxiety, diffidence, emotional imbalance, lack of initiative, concentration difficulties, fatigue and adaptation difficulties with peers are typical for children with latent
tuberculosis infection.
Children, who are infected with tuberculosis, are unsure of themselves, touchy, emotionally unstable, and dependent on other people’s opinion. They are also very anxious.
Parent’s ignoring children’s needs causes nervous tension, low school performance, increased anxiety and reduced concentration.
Lack of parental attention reduces the intellectual functions of children. Aggressive behavior and tendency to self-affirmation in society is a result of wrong parental education.
